Mindfield: Your Everyday Playground

Me

Me es la bonita... er... I'm not at all fluent in Spanish! Not yet.
Anyway, I'm what... a struggling artist first and a desperate student next :) I hope to be an illustrator but I'd like to make my first million by publishing this novel I've been writing (not all the time) enthusiastically
My current obsessions are football, as you all may see from all the entries, and of course Paul Walker, and Ben Affleck and Tobey Maguire and el mejor portero, Casillas!

Amigas

People whose names you might see from time to time...
Ephi: Lil sis, 20, my webmistress :) We share the same illogical craving for chocolate!!!
Irwin: Mio querido! 27, highbrow exec. First impression: nice, serious, serious and serious. Now that I’ve come to know him: wonderfully crazy, enthusiastically lunatic and great fun!
Nora: Friend, 22, housemate. For richer or poorer... if such thing exist between friends! We borrow the most ridiculous things from each other whenever money’s tight and tummies are singing: sugar, instant noodles, eggs, anything.
DokiDoki: Online Pal. As much crazy of football as I am, although sadly she seems to prefer Premiere League. La Liga rules, sista!
Spawn: Online Pal. Die hard fan of Asterix comic, the miracle elixir for exams' stress! BTW, he's Assurancetorix and I'm Abraracourcix!!!

OK., finally things started to settle down... I really do think I could get things done on time. (Thank God)
But there it goes again, mio querido, he's mighty cute but sometimes he could be, basically, an ass!
*chuck sandal jepit at Irwin*
Anyway, English speaking people, sandal jepit equal flip-flops! Las sandalias, amigos!
I got yet another Chicklist items, Guy Next Door and Shopaholic Takes Manhattan. Guy Next Door's a little bit too sweet, I think, and much too fantastic... Still prefer Shopaholic at the end of the day. There's nothing like a British female writers, I must say. Becky Bloomwood and Jemima Jones still rule! And Harry Potter! (Although, I'm not ready to risk my live as yet to get one of the finally released copies of its 5th book)
Anyway, guys, one of my item to work before finals is within a theme of Spanish pattern. Carpet or rugs... something like that. I still remember how they look like but I'd like to see one so as to get the detail right - I can fool my housemates by showing them abstract painting and telling them it's Persian carpet but definitely cannot do the same to my professor!
Anyone surfed thru and found a patter as described above, kindly leave the address, please... Cup, cup, mmuahhh... ¡Hasta la vista, amigos! Pray for my exams!

I just saw an article in miami.com (that's where I surf weekly to check out Dave Barry's weekly column - he's one funny guy!) which revolted me to the extreme.
It's concerning what the editor dubbed as fast track in hi-school. A new law was legalised starting this fall in Miami that in order to graduate hi-school faster, students are given options to skip art classes, PE and other electives!
I'm not a great athlete but I seriously am against skipping physical ed.! And art classes?! D'you want your kids to grow scientifically clever but otherwise unintellectual?
Face it, people, you wouldn't get on too far in the world if you know nothing about Mozart, Bach, Monet, Dickens and Hemmingway. At the least, people would shun you away with the pitieous murmurs of you being not quite educated.
And anyway, this very topic is what I'm campaigning about! Smart... OK; Intellectual... not without Art!

Yeeehaa...! Finally Sebastian wrote back!
He wrote me about a couple of weeks ago, seemingly in reply to my introductory mail. At that time, I was taking a revenge to my mailbox which seemed to love junk mails (and what's worse, preferred X-rated offers! Horror!) and I decided to again, look for penpals.
Up until now I succeeded to unintentionally trash most of them who wrote me 'coz I failed to be online when I was down with the bad, bad flu a week ago. It seemed that most of them couldn't stand a little lateness in my writing back *sad*
Anyway, apparently Seb had gone for vacation and returned just now. Thank goodness, he wrote a somewhat grammatical English. In his first letter, he wrote only 4 or 5 words in English and then proceeded to burst out in Spanish and left me dizzy.
OK., I won't let this one get away... He's the only one person who seems to be willing to be a free tutor for me!
My other enterprising penpal, Hyung Uk from the city of Pusan, South Korea, told me that he had just finished one of his summer jobs, which is being an extra in a war movie whose main star is Won Bin!
He then proceeded to innocently say that he supposed I didn't know it but Won Bin was a very famous actor there and that he was quite thrilled to actually get a chance to see him.
I was like, are you crazy...? *hysteric* I mean, I'm not exactly Won Bin's #1 fan but man...
There was another mail in my mailbox, another new penpal-to-be but I haven't read it yet...
Spawn, how's tricks? The sky hadn't fallen yet, at least not tomorrow but it's going to soon...! Sing a song for me so that I'd have a reason to beat someone up! Haven't been able to drag my lazy ass to finish my 15 pieces of drawings. Deadline next Monday! So far, I've only got about 12 sketches, none finished and no idea for the remaining 3.
HELPPP, somebody!
(Irwin, who claimed to be my slave, gave a kiss, saying 'all the best' and was gone! I am going to pursue him with a heavily decorated war spear!)

Ha. Final rounds on Joe Millionare. I'm glad Evan got rid of Mojo. She seemed nice enough but I wouldn't be interested in her had I been in Evan's shoes. She's... I dunno, a bit too sure of herself in a nice, disguised way.
And I'm mighty glad that he kept Zora. She was a bit difficult to begin with but she, as Evan said himself, is not pretending.
Evan enjoyed his date with Zora although he tried to tone it down by saying he felt a bit like doing a Disney movie. I was going, "Oh.. you like herrrrr..."
Initially, I thought Melissa was the suitable one - she very pretty and she seemed genuine, too. But now all my support go to Zora!!! Yeah, way to go, girl!!!
I missed the Bachelorette Sat. night 'coz I was hanging out with Edwin. He's a bit puzzled, as ever the case with guys, by the girls in his life *giggle*
But guys, the big news is... *drum roll* Real Madrid won!!! YEEHAA!!! *fire up fireworks* *dancing dancing* *jumping around*
...although decidedly, Iker again conceded a stupid goal. Most ppl blamed poor Hierro and after a replay, I saw that it was indeed very close to hitting the goal post that any other goalie would be fooled.
But what I'd like to stress was the words "any other goalie"! Iker would not! No matter what happen, the Iker I'm so proud of would be hurling himself toward el balon!
It was a somewhat stale victory. At least it's what it seemed to me. Iker didn't look as jubilant as he had during the final rounds in the Champion's League. He looked a bit disconcerted as he was after the game with Borussia Dortmund where he was somewhat intimidated by the Incredible Hulk, Jan Koller, and failed to save his net.
Darling Raúl looked a bit heartbroken, too. No wonder, he failed about three times striking the ball home.
Pero mio nino, Figo... ¡ay, tu eres barbaro, Luis Felipe!
¡Hasta pronto, amigos! I'm off to celebrate!
(Which actually means I'll get a bit of a z-z-z...)

Finally, I did a piece of serious illustration work! It's horrible naturally but well, at least, it's one I finished (though I must really touch it up some more, absolutely not satisfied with the tone and contrast... and I really must...)
Anyway, Becks is officially El Blanco! *pout* Well, at least they didn't trade Figo off for him as rumoured before. I'll kill them if it was to be so! I will!
I am of murderous intention many times this week. First off, Corbis, who by the way hasn't send me any flowers or cards(!)... Just what the heck did they do to their own pages? All thumbnails and no larger pics... how on Earth could I shop there?
Then there's Yahoo! (musn't forget the "!", they would sue me otherwise). I'd waken up early (or rather, didn't sleep at all) and was up and about by 9 AM just so I could send mio querido a note of apology on a greeting card (I couldn't afford to wait until night!) and what did the world's #1 e-mail provider did?
They failed to deliver my card!!! Am seriously murderous!
And then there's this postal service people... If I was to come up with a campaign for postal service people in Indonesia, its title would be as follows.. Copy and Paste: Smile!
And learn math, OK!
People, a new personage is coming in (though I hope only for a short time only). I'll call him AC for the sake of privacy (my own!) and his status will be a fan of mine.
Seriously, he's pestering me day and night and guess what, sending me poetry!
Well, if he thinks he can win me over with poetry, he can think again! He finds baby-talk cute and I wouldn't have commented if he hadn't tried to get me to baby-talk too. Ewww!

        01:34 p.m.
I'm going to kill the people in Corbis! I'm gonna, I'm gonna!!!
I've just spent good money only trying to send a card! Goddamn the thing!
I couldn't log in, I couldn't see any more than the thumb nail; could order a damn thing!!!
Still in business or what? What's more, I've just had a long night; in fact no sleep at all yet and I MUST, MUST send the card now - I need to apologise badly; couldn't afford to wait until I meet the guy... and this site, who's too "pelit" with tis pics... Urghhh...
Better send me a bunch of flower 2moro, Corbis!

I'm dead tired!
And am not even started with any of the task yet! It was merely brainstorming and ideas-chopping. Yup, Luke certainly and ruthlessly chopped off most of my ideas!!!
Am not exactly optimistic but I'm sending in a bunch of applications. Mostly boring stuff, secretarial positions - three of them. A couple of graphic design posts and... (drum roll, please!) a vacation for a writer!!! How cool is that?!
Not sure if they'd take me though. No experience whatsoever and the only unrelated person ever to acknowledge my talent was my English III: Writing Prof. You rule, Mr. Suparman! (He called himself Superman, by the way - and other people ever to tell me I could write were relatives indeed, and under gun-point)
Anyway, I mentioned this blog in my application letter. I'm starting to have second thought... Hope I didn't ridicule any of the company's work or branches or anything stupid like that! ¡Ay, caramba! Estoy mucho cansado y hambriento... Pero quiero decir el mundo ¡Iker es MEJOR PORTERO! ¡Buenos salvados!
Sociedad lost the crucial game to superb Celta Vigo. While it's good for Madrid's sake, it was also a bit of a heartbreak to see Darling Darko losing his heart down by the pitch - he was very badly injured during the game, he was forced to retire entirely; next thing we know, he was already in a dark corporate suit.
Meanwhile, super goalkeeper Iker, was having a fabulous commentary from the rep of Soccerage. They didn't broadcast Madrid's game but I bet it was a repetition of his miraculous play against MU in the just-over Champions League's finals.
To wrap, Madrid is going smoothly downhill toward the crown of La Liga and about time I get back to serious work! ¡Te quiero siempre, Iker! ¡Besos muy grande!

        06:28 p.m.
They created a line up for 2003 Champions League's Dream Team and guess what, Buffon chooses Iker for the Super Team's goalkeeper!!!
Had I been Iker, I would've jumped around the room. It would be like Agatha Cristie telling me I've written a great story!!! Man, I'm so proud of him! Mio pequeño nino... ¡ahora ya el joven! ¡Besos muy grande!
Outrageous though that they didn't nominated Rui Costa nor Luis Figo for best midfielders. Prejudism!!! Viva Porto!

JC won! I didn't get to see the game though.
A college pal is going abroad and we have a little farewell party.
Her cute older brother was there too. Beforehand I didn't pay that much attention toward him 'cos frankly he's not my type. But the thing is, he's a little too pointedly rude with me. I was like, what's your problem, man?
Anyway, I decided not to make too big a deal about it. After all, it's not like we're in the same circle of friends and I certainly didn't want to make a scene on my friend's farewell party. (It's bad enuf I didn't get her a present! Well, I'm going to get her one - not leaving until Thursday, thank God!)
Thanks to Irwin, I didn't get to watch the women's final either - though I didn't really know the girls. All Belgians final, I later saw. Way the go, Belgium!
But well, that's the best Saturday I've ever had!
XXX, mio querido!
