06:59 p.m. It felt like a lifetime ago since I last been online. I dunno why... the exams over about 2 weeks ago but I just catched the aftermath syndrome.
Am extremely lazy! If it hadn't been for my stomach rumbling, I don't think I'd even get up! Anyway, this cooking stuff is really much more expensive than what they try to make it be. I am constantly tempted to buy new pans, new knives... etc. (It's really annoying using a half dull knife!) OK., OK., I like things good and neat but well, since my bank account isn't exactly giant, I'm settled with this exremely nice can opener I've had for oh, two years or so. Nearby Indomart had been reconstructing and I was a bit bewildered when I visited yersterday. My very own cashier attendant Chitra gloated about it and I retorted that I couldn't find any eggs. (Which is true, they hadn't stocked any for a whole week!) Nicked a Friends VCD from Nina a couple of days ago. It's the newest season's first episodes. I LOVE the one with Emma crying the whole time. Joey is exceptionally hilarious there! LAST SHOUT: ++ Richie Ren’s Classic Reminiscense is great. The guy has the nicest voice! Too bad it’s a pirated v. and there’s absolutely nothing comprehensive regarding the title. All in Latin alphabets and not in least exact! ++ Hadn’t seen Iker for what seems like forever! Real Madrid’s touring to Asia, if I remember it right? DokiDoki? But as I recall, Jakarta’s not one of their destination, urrrghhhh! ++ Caught a spot of Paul Walker a couple of nights ago. He’s unbelievable! ++ Happy birthday to Steve, who’s having it on July 19. ++ Same to Joaquin Sanchai, as DokiDoki dubbed him, who had it on the 20th. ++ Ben’s having it on the 22nd. Another year, boy! Hope it’s a good one! ++ Still hadn't got Harry Potter #5!!! Hwaaaa!!! Saw one a couple of days ago, very, very tempted to buy... HWAAAAAA!!! Tuesday, July 22, 2003
05:01 p.m. Am in the mood for talking, people... have been isolated for some time, now that the exams are over and practically the only person I can talk to is Nora and she’s taking summer classes and is extremely stressed out with their continous tests...
Anyway. Let’s start this properly. Right now I’m listening to Ricky Martin’s new album: Almas Del Silencio which means, ‘far as I can do it, Souls of Silence. I fell in love instantly to its 9th track Y Todo Queda En Nada (=And All The Stillness in Void) Now I know void isn’t exactly a romantic word but what can I do? English is definitely not the most romantic of all languages. Emptyness would do better but then there’d be two words with –ness at the ending and it isn’t good. (Writer’s antic!) I watched The English Patient the other night. No other word to describe it: A very fine movie. They could do better with the script but the whole story is Oscar material (though we couldn’t really trust Oscar these days) and visualisation... man, I never, never found any other movie with such fine visualisation. All scenes even the most insignificant were planned exquisitely without making each of them looked overdone. This called for the OE expression: Splendid. What I liked most had been the scene where Hana, the nurse, found those candles leading to Kip’s quarter. (Although how on Earth could anyone call an Indian Kip I couldn’t imagine) Or the scene at the church, where he practically swings her up to see the paintings... it’s ingenious! And casting... who could play Count d’Almásy better than Ralph Fiennes, I’d like to know. I especially liked the one when he was telling Katherine about the folk song. That it tells about a Hungarian count who meets and falls in love with a mysterious English woman (teasing her really) and that the English woman makes him her slave, makes him sew for her... at that point she realises he’s teasing her and hits him by the head. That had been goddamn natural. One of the finest romantic moments ever produced by Hollywood. I saw Babe during the first months after I moved in here and saw it again a couple of weeks ago (when I was toiling over the assignments and stayed up late.) Had totally forgotten what a hilarious movie it was! The duck who wants to be the crowing chicken... never fails to crack anybody up! Such a classic joke. And to name it Fernando... or so I recall its name is. And where on Earth do they found such goddamn beautiful border collie who plays Babe’s Mum? Never had I seen before such a fine speciment. Am still following Jack n Jill. Initially I couldn’t make up my mind whom to choose between the 3 guys (OK., I know it’s not like any of the three was pushing me to do so, but you all know what I mean.) Nina fell in love at first sight with Jill of course. Typical, Ballack and Brendan Fraser and what have you. I liked the intensity in Barto and his quiet sarcastic way of saying things but who on Earth can resist Mickey? After all, I’ve been in love with Simon Rex for what seems like forever! Ever since the time he shot out a narration in Spanish during an MTV’s show, I was hooked, although at that time I didn’t care much about the language. That was only the time I understand the attraction of foreign languages. Of late season, Jill somehow had become less and less attractive, add that to the fact that I didn’t really care for such type, there you have it. And Barto, he’s just as undecided as Audrey had been. Anyway, I’m beginning to like Audrey more and more. I don’t think anybody ever understand how her mind works but at least, she’s much kinder now. Similarly, Mickey had becoming more of a affectionate human being instead of a common jerk, although of course, he’s yet to lead a settled life. He’s quite like the Joey character in ‘Friends,’ though not as stupid. Endearing and a very loyal friend. Still on the theme of TV, Evan finally chose Zora! YAY! I, for the first time, screaming out loud during a TV show that’s not a soccer game. Nora and I were actually having a hard time for we’re terrifed he would choose Sarah. But he didn’t, he chose Zora! Nora didn’t understand why I was actually touched by that. What?! Didn’t she know that it proved that there’s still guys with sincerity out there, with brains? Ones who could see through artificial sweetness and is willing to do his part in building trust in a relationship? Anyway, that’s too heavy a theme to talk here... he chose Zora! Yee-haa! Gimana, eYiK? Eh, tapi dikau nontonnya yang ini atau yang Bachelorette, sih? Dua-duanya, dooong... Greg turns out to be a great dog lover! My God, I never even seen cousin Edwin did such thing and yet he did spend hours trying to free a very hostile dog out of rings of barb wire. And that guy with the horse smile... huahahaha... I’m sorry but that’s the first impression I got and also I forget his name... he’s such a nice guy but maybe he himself thought it better if he’s out of the contest. Bob’s a great guy, too, Trista’s better off picking him rather than having Greg and Russ. And that cowboy, Brook? He’s simply an insecure jerk! She’s yet to choose but Trista, if you’re clever, you’ll listen to me *grin* and choose Charlie! She’s got what Enrique Martinez said as private emotion toward Ryan but this is a husband you’re looking for, baby, not some lovie dovie boyfriend! He won’t be an adequate shoulder to cry on at times when the going gets tough, believe me. After all, with Charlie and his crowned frog, you’d get your dose of lovie dovie thing just as well. |
