The Return of The King

|Listening to: Anytime - Kelly Clarkson

Ha. That title's sure to give me quite a hit. Apology to anyone searching for the latest of Frodo and friends and got stuck here.

The air in Jakarta had been shady lately and I found myself inspecting to see if I was down with preliminaries of Dengue fever or this other fever equally raging at the moment. (Sorry, am not sure of the term in English.)
Thanks to the well-wishers, it's not really that serious. Ey the Invincible. The fever didn't even knock me down into bed but the headaches were quite a bitch. Never experienced something like those before.

Heh. My operator's playing Brian McKnight. Extreme turn-around. He's the one who puts on lame songs like Stinky's, the worst of Base Jam and practically the worst of every boyband in the world. Darling op. He's a cool guy, though; I think in some cases, music taste developes on its own and has absolutely nothing to do with DNA mapping.

Speaking of songs, I picked up some compilation albums a couple of weeks ago - the main reason was I'd like to hear Shane (of Westlife) sings Mandy. Imagine that, my darling crooner pre-Clay and a song from another darling, Manilow.
Anyway, I also wanted to hear Dido's newest and there's Sarah MacLachlan's Fallen too. There's DeeDee's fave, Enrique's newest song and also there's Black Eye Pead's Where Is The Love. So far that's the only not-quite-a-sing-along track that I love.

I wasn't in the least curious about Kelly Clarkson, pretty much the way I passed on viewing American Idol before hearing Clay, so when I stumbled upon Anytime, I told myself, Ey, you really should start being humble. (Ha. As if I would ever!)

It's a seriously nice song. I've always liked sing-along songs and never really care for other types (the exceptions were Enigma, Massive Attacks, Offspring(!) and Tori Amos). But Anytime is the kind of song that inspire you to sing. Not only is the melody's good, there are also lots of places where you can sneak in various improvs on your own. Good job, Clivey!
Another track currently stuck in my playlist was Mandy Moore's coverage of Have A Litte Faith in Me. That one's wicked. I'm sure the alley cats outside are feelling seriously threatened by my voice.

From the soccer front, it's the Champions League and an invitation to laugh out loud, people. Ollie Kahn had finally paid for the uncalled for insult he did my darling Iker. His super duper fatal blunder cost Bayern heavily, giving Real Madrid a Get Out of Jail Free Card, as dubbed by Soccerage.
Poor thing, it must be a real bummer. I mean, it was a pretty stupid blunder, letting the free kick slid inside the net through his armpit. Kahn anticipated rightly, throwing himself to the lefthand side and, from afar, seemed to be blocking the ball down pat. Even Carlos (who executed the free kick) didn't believe that he actually scored.
Not to mention that Bayern really outdid Madrid that night. It's pretty sad to see Madrid played as if they're a second division up against a club from the premiere. Bayern deserved a victory.

Am wishing to find some time and renew my acquiantance with the cinema. Back in the early years of college, the 21 cineplex was my second home. Now my average visit had dropped to once a year. It's getting better though, even if not as much as I would like. Anyway the movies I'm looking forward to see is Cheaper by The Dozen, Lost in Translation and Mystic River. The first two are already premiering at Taman Anggrek but as I said, no time yet. Sigh.
