Didn't think I'd survive today...
Yet I did. *pat self on th back* Not that it was really going to be a long day... After all, today was the only day I could go home right on time, which is 7 PM.
Still, today was the first day I had to work again after the long spell I had, not coming in on Friday. Well, I did come but went home again after I finished preparing for my classes. Was feeling most horrible. Biasa sih, hari-hari gini orang-orang canthix tu suka jatuh sakit gitu...
Anyway. My Basic 4 was going to have their Progress Test 1 and my Basic 3 didn't need much work, so I actually didn't have too much to do.
I still needed to do the draft on the advertisement Astri asked me to design, though. It turned out rather crazy - am not sure whether the students will be able to read it or not.
Later in class, I was supervising my B3 class doing their Comparison work when a comment caught my attention. "So presidents do get paid?" It was Sarah, the student everybody else calls Ms Endang because they look so much alike. This girl is not exactly clueless, she just has a very inquiring mind.
"Yes, of course, you idiot," one of the girls told her. Sarah paused and then asked again, "But who pays them?" The other girls sighed, "The people, of course."
"But I didn't know that!" Sarah exclaimed.
See? Just another proof of how stupid our education system is. It bombards us with unnecessary knowledge and moronic things to memorise and left us blind to important, practical matters.
I was worried about my B4 students' reaction to the Progress Test because I didn't tell them we were going to have the test. Well, after all, it's just a progress test. It is done indeed to see how far they had progressed.
Still, they took it in a stride. Latecomers and rowdy as they are, they were pretty good about it.
I waited for a while, to see that everybody was ready and that they had the time to ask me any questions they wanted to.
(That was just an excuse of course, I really wanted to go and buy my daily dose of milk because I hadn't had lunch!)
Anyway. At last everybody was ready, I had given them every last warnings and reminders, asking once again whether there was any questions... And we're off.
Immediately after everybody had read the questions, depression sunk into the room. They were all very quiet, for a change. Ha.
I was sure everybody had come when suddenly in came Ade, Mr Handsome of The Class. This guy was never on time. But I guess it backfired on him, this time. He was caught unprepared and went panic. Told me he couldn't think of anything. Well, that should teach you a lesson about coming on time.
But, as I am a good, kind-hearted and angelic teacher, I took pity on him and told him to calm down first. Take a deep breath, I said, think about something else; don't distress yourself with the test yet. Think about your girlfriend.
Or your boyfriend, I added, when he continued to look blank. Hahaha.
I forgot to bring anything to do, so I was left with absolutely nothing to distract myself with as they took their sweet time doing the test (They took all 1'45"! This is only a progress test, you guys!)
I turned on the radio, did the test myself, filled in the Teacher's Notes, tidied up the Attendance List folder and drove myself bananas thinking of random, idiotic things.
I couldn't even sketch 'cause I hadn't brought any scrap papers.
Later on, I was standing near the door when the writing on Ade's T-shirt caught my eye. It was the typical Joger T-shirt. (Joger or Doger? Oops, Doger kan es yah? Maklum dong, masih belajar Bahasa.)
Anyway, these T-shirts are usually filled with big writings whose sole purpose is to make fun of the readers. His said: SORRY YA, GUE LAGI DIET NGOMONG. (=Sorry, my diet requires minimum speaking.)
It's not really that funny but, by mistake, the spelling for NGOMONG was printed NGOMOMG which has no meaning at all. I was frowning as I read and it caught Akbar's attention. He turned to see Ade and Decky followed suit.
I didn't want them to think I was frowning because I was impatient as I waited for Ade to finish, so I turned away. They started laughing though, and as it turned out, Akbar did notice the misspelling.
Not bad. We're on the same wavelength now.
Somebody's eating something good here. The smell's heavenly. Kurang ajar, mana kas negara dah menipis pula.
Hoh iya... Tadi gw ke sini kan mau isi form aplikasi... Eh malah maen. Cih, lagian Lycos dibukanya susah banget, nyebelin. Mana besok gw udah gak sempet ke sini pula...
So folks, I'll see you guys later, then. I've gotta go home to my laundry and unmade bed. Hopefully I can get online again before extra classes swamp me. Tonight, Spain vs. Tunisia. Go, Iker!
Additional: Just read the horoscope in Friendster.
It says: If you feel lost about which step to take next, just keep going forward for now.
In Detail: Suddenly you're starting to feel things for someone that you didn't anticipate! Before you freak out or start to feel guilty, think about the possible origins for this change of heart. You'll soon see that your emotions are heightened by a benevolent sense of obligation or guilt.
Give this new feeling a few days to simmer, and most likely it will fade away. It's all a reminder that, right now, you're under the control of your heart much more than your head.
Oh yeah, tell me about it.

First Weeks

Barusan update blog (Moving In, Moving On and Move It, Gossips!) tapi dah gatel lagi pengen nambah.
Karena emang gw pikir, they're all secondary needs.
Tapi kos-kosan yang ini minta ampun parahnya. Masa di kamar gw nggak ada paku-pakunya. Gw mo gantung ini-itu di mana coba? Jam gw yang notabene gede banget (en selalu siap ngasi tau gw kalo gw dah telat ke kantor) ampe sekarang masi numpang senderan di atas lemari yang paling tinggi.
Lemarinya sendiri juga ampun bangeth... Masa tebelnya cuma 35 cm? Lemari gw di kos-an lama aja udah bikin kemeja-kemeja gw kecekik padahal ukurannya 50 cm. Gosh, walopun baru calon tukang (ketauan deh...), gw juga tau di mana-mana yang namanya lemari baju tu tebelnya mesti paling nggak 60 cm!
Kamar mandinya minimalis sih, gw OK-OK aja... tapi plis deh, masa gak ada juga cantelan buat gantung baju gw?
Nggak siap cuci-gosok, oke gw terima. Heh, tali jemuran ikutan nggak ada! Jadinya gw mesti akrobat, ngiket-ngiket tali untuk bikin tempat jemuran darurat.
Nggak ada washtafel, nggak ada dapur, nggak ada kulkas... Gila, gilaaa!
Ntar dah, liat lagi.
