My longtime friend surprised me with a sudden visit! She called two days ago, out of the blue, at sunrise. (Well, sunrise my time, which was around 7 AM.)
She's staying for two days, arriving Sunday and only just managed to contact me. There was a record of her calling me Sunday indeed but I missed it.
Anyway, I was quite excited it surprised me. I realised I hadn't felt as energized since forever.
We had a blast. Feby and I had come a long way and there were secrets I could tell only her and vice versa. It's true when they say you don't find too many people who really understands you. I have since had many other friends, with whom I have interesting conversations and good times but there were things that they just don't get and a few of those things were things that matters to me and the fact really bother me sometimes.
Recently, I've gotten really, really annoyed at some of people I live with, it got to the point that I think I sincerely, yours truly despise them.
Circumstances had led me to consider moving out a few times before - financial circumstances, that is, and for once, I truthfully want to move out.
Anyway, back to my day with Feby... We got to talking for hours, all the while cruising through the corridors of Taman Anggrek Mall, bewildering every people in sight with our loud, superfast Ambonese speech.
Only thing sad about my friendship with F is that she loves books much, much less than I am. We mananged to go through some magazines (magazines?) but that's it. (Interesting, I never realised that before - but then again, my other best friends, Henny and Jenny, aren't much of a bookworm either.)
She took me instead to the game center. I never thought of myself as well-coordinated - funny idea for someone who used to ballet but it's true. I'm not very big at most sports. But after mastering billiard, I convinced myself I could play a few things if only taking a bit more time - and at some cases, with no people watching while I try!
Nobody was watching while I shot my first basket after oh, well, it must be nearly 8 years ago. Wow. And still I shot it way up the basket that the ball disappeared past the little roof of those little huts where they placed the baskets. Pathetic.
After a while though, I warmed up and was enjoying it. Afterward, we played that thing which was a bit like bowling though called Ice something. Little white balls we're supposed to glide up into little cups valuing different scores. I made loud noises by mistakenly banging those balls into the metallic buffer until impatiently, Feby told me, "Look Ma'am, here goes: watch!"
So, like great people had said, if you put your mind to it and really believe in yourself, you can shoot the basket and at IceHockey or whatever it called itself, you can score 10,000 points. Ha.
As for other indulgence, I knew it wouldn't be the best thing to do but I've gone and indulged my unhealthy crush on Sie Fan by buying New KungFu Boy #14 where he first reappeared on the series. Since then, I've read and read it over and over again, it'd soon have multiple dog ears.
Oooh, Sie Fan, I love you!!! Muah, muah, muacks!
